CQS-300 is normally used for shoulder ballast cleaning on turnouts and the adjacent areas. This machine fits for all types of turnouts because of its wide cleaning range. CQS-300 integrates mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and automatic controls all together. The machine has the highest traveling speed under own power of 80 km/h and towing speed of 100 km/h, which is especially adequate for time window within 180 minutes.

CQS-300 provides flank digging buckets to move ballast from sleeper ends outward to the edge of the ballast section. The fouled ballast is lifted by the turning bucket wheel and then to conveyor, as the conveyor moves the ballast is transferred to a vibrating screen. After screening the fine ballast will be backfilled into the ballast bed and the rest mud will be thrown by a rotary conveyor to one side of the railway or into a material logistics.

This machine has the following advantages compared with traditional cleaning machines: 1. No cutter bar is to be connected under the sleepers which means less labor is requested; 2. The construction of bucket wheel is simple and it takes very short time to increase its efficiency. Furthermore, the bucket wheel can excavate ballast either at one side or synchronously at both sides; 3. The working of CQS-300 is very flexible and effective; 4. No further machines or devices needed, such as switch machine; 5. Applicable to various types of turnouts and for some cleaning work in tunnel or on bridge as well.
